Day 2 - Macau - explore it -

Sept 25 2008

I used my energy to the fullest for everyday whole day of fun, thrills and adventure even though i been there before but I always want to explore it again.

6.30
woke up and I have extra energy to explore macau until late hehehehe
Lovely morning with blue sky and its not raining yeahhh….
7:00 – took a bath
7:30 – ate breakfast – bread with nuttella spread but I still hungry so I ate rice with dried meat hahahaha

7:45 – out from my auntie house
7:45 – went to the shop to buy cheapest candy , I need the coins to take a bus
8:00 – waited for a bus
8:15 –
road a bus , its 3.3 MOP I took bus no.11 to Ruins of St Paul's
Just Cross the street and less than five minutes walk from the bus station its Senado Square the famous fountain has been renovated several times.

The Senado Square is paved with a wave-patterned mosaic of colored stones, created by Portuguese.

From the main road to the church of St. Dominic, the pavement extends to the ruins of St. Paul.
Within 2 minutes of walk I come to the Cathedral Square and the Cathedral is on my front.
8:30 - Sto. Domingo Church in Macau / St. Dominic's Church

- A very nice church with lemon yellow motif in Rua de S. Domingos - The church is beautiful in the outside and the inside. After taking some photos of the site I follow the route to the Leal Senado Square.

St Dominic's Church was built by three Spanish Dominican priests who originally came from Mexico in the 1587. The Church features a baroque architecture with a classic and elegant style. and it is also connected to the brotherhood of Our Lady of the Rosary. It was here that the first Portuguese newspaper was published on Chinese soil, A Abelha da China, on 12th September 1822. Later in 1929, this church integrated the worship of Our Lady of Fátima into its religious service, based on the account of the miraculous sighting that three shepherd children witnessed in Fátima, Portugal. After its establishment in Macau, through this church, the popular cult of Our Lady of Fátima expanded to other places in Asia. The "Reliquary Treasury" near the church has a collection of over three hundred catholic antiques.

visit shops: Bossini, Giordano, the body shop , etc.

9:00 - The Ruins of St. Paul's (
Portuguese: Ruínas de São Paulo)

One of the famous landmarks of Macau & a designated UN heritage site and I WAS THERE AGAIN !! :D

The Ruins of St. Paul's (Portuguese: Ruínas de São Paulo) refer to the façade of what was originally the Cathedral of St. Paul, a 17th century Portuguese cathedral in Macau dedicated to Saint Paul the Apostle. STOP 2 ~ Mount Fortress and Museum of Macau The Fortress was built in the 16th century for protecting the properties of Jesuit in Macau. Later it was seized by the Governor, for the defense of Macau. Within the interior of the fortress, you can see the Museum of Macau which was built on the hill in the 1990s. The museum presents the history of the city and territory of the former Portuguese colony of Macau.
In 1835 a fire swept through the complex destroying everything except the front stone faced facade. It has been built 3 times, and each time has met with tragedy, twice with fire and once with a typhoon. Each time the front face has remained.

The Museum of Sacred Art and Crypt was also built behind The Ruins of St. Paul's . It has exhibitions of religions artworks including paintings, sculptures and statues.

9:30 I arrive at the Mount Fortress. The tree covered park at the top of the fort has a panoramic view of the mainland area of Macau. After taking some photographs I visit the Museum of Macau, which is located just inside the fortress.

There are 3 floors in the museum, in which the 1st floor displays the beginnings of Macau and the arrival of Portuguese traders and Jesuit missionaries in the 16th century. In the 2nd floor of the museum, it exhibits the daily life and traditions of old Macau.
The top floor, the only one above ground, shows the modern Macau and its plans for the future.

Adjacent to the ruins is the Mount Fortress, which offers the best views across the sprawling city. The fort dates from 1632 and, with its cobblestone paths, towering stone walls and the Macau Museum, is worth the wheeze-inducing walk to the top.The fort's high perch also offers a perfect view of the lotus-shaped Grand Lisboa Casino, Macau's largest. A 40-storey hotel sits atop the sphere-shaped casino podium, which boasts another title as the world's largest LED screen.

Look at the watch it is 11:00 a.m. but now I’m feeling a little bit hungry again…
OH NOOOOOOOO
There are some coffee shops near the exit of the museum, but they are quite expensive than others, also the taste is not as good as others with lower price.

Follow the route back to the Ruins of St. Paul then descend ahead to a souvenir street I find some delicious Portuguese egg tart. It tastes sweet and crunchy and it only cost MOP 5 to MOP 7 per each mmm yummy…

and i also try dried meat , or pork ??? i am not sure.. and its so delicious

Relax , enjoyed everything through my eyes

Macau have many temples too, including A Ma Temple is more than 500 years old and was built to honour the eafarer's goddess, who was said to protect all boats on the high seas. With its vivid colours and exploding firecrackers to welcome tourists and scare off the demons,
the temple is worth a visit - even if just to pray for help, as many visitors do before throwing themselves into the vortex of casinos , pray for win.

Around Macau Area

12:00
After lunch , from the senado square turn left. Around this area I saw this new grand building of Casino Lisboa in front of it is the old building and walk to there its takes around 30 min and walked around 30 min , walked slowly to see the shop coz the weather so nice not really hot and not windy too

I am not gambling , only watched people played or see the scenery. I knew how to play was BIG-SMALL. There were many ways to play it, you can guess if the sum of the 3 dice is big/small, guess the sum of the 3 dice, guess the combination that will appear, guess any number appearing on any of the dice, etc.

No photography is allowed inside the casino so I can only take photos outside it.

Btw in Sands Casino , they offer free game each day for 1 person , its only slot machine and if you have the highest score u can win money.i tryed it today and yesterday but i am not the highest score.

I don’t remember how long I am at the Casino Lisboa or Grand Lisboa but I went to MGM Grand Casino. All within a 3-tier shimmering golden glass structure on a prime waterfront site . Not far from it is the Wynn Casino. Beautiful as the MGM Grand it showcases a grand opening of the money tree and the crystal chandelier.

SANDS
, VENETIAN ,
GRAND LISBOA
, WYNNS ,
MGM ,
LISBOA ,CROWN , etc they offer free return shuttle bus airport , macau ferry terminal or taipa ferry terminal is very frequent

EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE NOT A GUEST AT THAT HOTEL (THEY DON’T ASK ABOUT IT ). So I only spend total 6.6 MOP for the transportation to my auntie’s house .

inside the bus ,

And

Macau has more than 30 casinos and the number is growing. So it will more free shuttle bus. Even I am so surprise SANDS, VENETIAN or COTAI STRIP have free ferry ticket to hongkong.

WOW and I used it..hahahahaha can save around $HK 160 for one way ticket

I went to Venetian Macau in Taipa Island. Upon arrival, I was surprised with the luxury and its grandest architecture with the Venice touch.

With a fake sky that also changes to day and night.

in the evening day spent at the Venetian Macau Resort, On the following day, I walk around the Grand Canal Shoppes.

It is a huge shopping paradise with elegant "streetmosphere", providing the most unique shopping experience in South East Asia and staff is very friendly

The Venetian Macau is right now one of the most impressive and jaw dropping buildings on earth. Owned by the Las Vegas Sands Corporation and belonging to one of the richest men in the world, Sheldon Adelson, the Venetian Macau was modeled after it’s little sister in Las Vegas.
Built on the infamous
Cotai strip in Macau, the casino is the currently biggest in the world and a feat to human architecture.

Officially opened on 28.August 2008 Venetian Macau – the largest casino in the world
coz :
could fit 90 Boeing 747 jumbo jets into it.
3,000 suites, 1,200,000 square feet (111,000 m²) of convention space,
1,600,000 square feet (149,000 m²) of retail,

3,400 slot machines
800 gambling tables
15,000 seat arena for entertainment/sports events.

Venetian WC

the hotel offers so much entertainment that you could while away there for weeks and never get bored. Famous entertainers like Beyonce, The Pussycat Dolls and Celine Dion are scheduled to perform end of this year in this casino

Performing every 1 hours

Next is the only reason why I want to see Venetian is the Gondola Rides. Their gorgeous Italian gondolier serenade us with O Solo Mio (My Sun) etc drift through the San Luca, Marco Polo and Grand Canals aboard our beautifully crafted gondolas.
