The Great Wall

Fact :

The myth that The Great Wall is visible with the naked eye from the moon was finally laid to rest in 2003 , when China’s first astronaut Yang Li Wei observed that he could not see the barrier from space.

From 2006 Dec , any activities that damage the wall will be illegal. Anyone violating the regulation faces fines of up to 50 000rmb while institutions can be fined as much as 500 000rmb.

Simatai great wall in Miyun Country 110km northeast of Beijing, simatai has some unusual features.. these are walls – within walls used for defending against enemies who had already scaled the Great Wall. Small cannons have been discovered in this area , as well as evidence of rocket-type weapons.
